§ 6.5. City Assessor.

The City Assessor shall possess all the powers vested in, and shall be charged with the duties imposed upon, assessing officers by law. He shall make and prepare all regular and special assessment rolls in the manner prescribed by law or ordinance of the City. He shall be a resident of the City. In the event that the Assessor is not a certified assessor, he shall not prepare the City assessment roll, but a certified assessor shall be engaged by the Council to prepare such roll in the manner required by law. With the approval to the City Council the person named to prepare the City assessment roll may be appointed as Deputy Assessor.
