§ 4.8. Filling Vacancies.

Any vacancy occurring in any elective office of the City shall be filled within thirty (30) days after such vacancy shall have occurred by the concurring vote of at least three (3) of the remaining members of the City Council. The appointee shall serve until the second Monday next following the next regular City election following his appointment. If the City Council fails to fill the vacancy within thirty (30) days following its occurrence, the City Election Commission shall call a special election to fill the vacancy, to be held not sooner than ninety (90) days and not later than 120 days following the occurrence of the vacancy and to be otherwise governed by the election provisions of this Charter.
